

Japanese salty pancake:okonomi-yaki(おこのみやき・お好み焼き)
■Introduction
Okonomi-yaki is one of the most popular pancakes in Japan. There are many special Okonomi-yaki stands in the street festivals in Japan.
Also there are many special shops in the big city like Tokyo, Osaka. Of course we cook it by ourselves at home.
Let’s try to cook this one at home!
On this time I introduce the meat free type Okonomi-yaki to you , but you can put into or on any foods that you like ,for example shrimps, sliced cheese sliced pork, bacon and beef・・・.(Okonomi-yaki means to bake what you want to eat in Japanese.)
■You will need: (Make 4-5 Okonomi-Yaki)
Soup stock (8oz) Egg (2) Cabbage (1)
Leek (4) Flour (1cup)
Oil to bake (corn, olive, canola……)
Topping : Mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, Pickled ginger, Dried
bonito, Green laver
■How to cook ( It is similar to regular pancakes)
Stir all ingredients into soup stock only until lump disappear.
Cook on preheated lightly oiled pan, turning when bubbles form on surface and edges begin to dry. Enjoy!!
